Journal of Education, April 1902: In the journal, MacKay comments on errors in data as well as possible solutions. Issues included confusion about the date system, mistaking two plants, and straight up guessing. MacKay suggests changes such as substituting different species, as well as adding or dropping certain species. The journal also includes directions for teachers as well as a template for data collection. MacKay makes it very clear that he wants things as accurate as possible: "Better no date, NO RECORD, than a WRONG ONE or a DOUBTFUL one."
